Today, we’re diving into the world of desserts with a heavenly recipe for the creamiest vanilla icecream you’ll ever taste. The recipe creates a velvety vanilla icecream, that doesn’t require the use of eggs, and is almost impossible to go wrong when making it.
Preparing the Icecream Mixture
We first need to start by making a creamy mixture, after which we will then add this to our icecream churner. The required mixture is a combination of thickened cream, full cream milk, sugar, vanilla extract, milk powder and a pinch of salt. Take the selected ingredients and whisk them all together in a large bowl, until well combined. An electric mixer can also be used here to speed the process.
Patience is a virtue, especially when crafting the perfect ice cream. Finish the base by popping your bowl into the fridge for an hour, allowing the flavors to mingle and the mixture to reach a delightful chill.
Why is this Recipe so Creamy?
The choice of ingredients is key for a creamy icecream texture. The milk powder will help suck up water from the base, which may otherwise add in ice particles as the ice-cream churns. It’s also the reason to use full cream milk and not a skim milk too.
You should also note in this recipe to use vanilla extract over vanilla essence. Vanilla extract is made from vanilla pods and gives the classic vanilla taste. Vanilla essence is made through a chemical process, and while cheaper, the final flavor won’t be as strong.
Churning the Vanilla Icecream
Now comes the exciting part – it’s time to transform the icecream base into a delicious velvety icecream. Start by firing up your icecream churner and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the churning process. Before long the liquid will transform into a creamy masterpiece. At this stage the texture will be similar to a soft serve type consistency.
Scoop the freshly churned ice cream into an airtight container. Give it a little pat on the back (or lid) before placing it in the freezer. Two hours later, your patience will be rewarded with a scoopable, dreamy dessert that’s ready to steal the spotlight.
No Icecream Machine?
Don’t own an icecream machine? You can still make this recipe. Instead of adding the base to the icecream machine, simply add it to an airtight container and freeze.
Every 30 minutes, pull the base from the freezer and whisk until smooth. Return the base to the freezer and keep repeating until the icecream goes hard. The process should take 2-3 hours.
Serving the Vanilla Icecream
Serve this icecream with your favorite pudding, top it with a delicious sauce or simply eat it from a cone. However you serve it, you can’t go wrong.
