Apple Crumble

Ingredients
 

Apple Filling

  • 1 kg Apples, peeled and sliced granny smith
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 50 grams sugar
  • 50 grams brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg

Oat Crumble

  • 90 grams rolled oats
  • 150 grams flour
  • 75 grams sugar
  • 100 grams brown sugar
  • 140 grams butter, melted
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • pinch of salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 180 °C.
  • Place the apples into a large mixing bowl. Add the flour, sugars, spices and lemon juice. Toss to combine and then spread out in a 1.5 litre baking dish.
  • Combine all the topping ingredients together in a bowl and then spread over the apples. Use your fingers to spread the topping to evenly cover the apples.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes, until golden brown. Remove and set aside for 10 minutes before serving.
  • Serve with vanilla icecream or custard.
