Mince Mixture
- 500 grams beef mince
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon flour
- ½ cup beef stock
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- salt and pepper
Burger Sauce
- 4 tablespoons mayonaise
- 2 tablespoons tomato sauce
- 2 teaspoons American mustard
- 2 teaspoons pickle juice
- ½ teaspoon sugar
- salt and pepper
Other Ingredients
- 500 grams frozen waffle fries
- 150 grams cheddar cheese, grated
- ¼ iceberg lettuce, shredded
- 1 tomato, finely diced
- ½ white onion, finely diced
- pickle slices
- sesame seeds
Combine all the sauce ingredients in a small bowl. Set aside
Preheat the oven to 200 C. Line a tray with baking paper and arrange the waffle fries across the tray. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown and crunchy.
While the fries are cooking, heat a large frypan over a medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and then the beef mince. Use the back of a wooden spoon to break up the mince and then cook until browned. Add in the garlic powder, flour, salt and pepper and stir to combine.
Add the stock and Worcestershire sauce, reduce the heat to medium. Continue to cook the beef until the mixture is no longer watery.
Divide the cooked fries between serving bowls. Top with the beef and sprinkle over the cheese. Melt the cheese under the grill for 2 minutes. Drizzle the burger sauce over the top and then scatter lettuce, tomato and onion across each bowl. Finish with a sprinkling of sesame seeds over everything.
